What's On: The Burberry Prorsum Cape

Since February showed the upcoming fall winter trends, we saw many of them as an advance on the red carpets. One statement piece that totally took over was the cape. We saw some sleek and long, powerful capes from Lupita Nyong'o's Ralph Lauren vibrant red cape dress to Cate Blanchett's Valentino Crepe silk cape gown.
One of the highlights of this fall piece was at the Burbery Prorsum runway. We saw colorblocked capes with every top model wearing a personalized one. Now, I've seen many streetstyle pictures of celebrities, models and bloggers wearing it.

Downtown walk. Cara Delevingne wearing her "CJD" cape with a cool casual twist: dark skinnies, black fedora, and boots.

At brunch. Renowned blogger from 'The City', Olivia Palermo, wearing her "OP" cape. She paired it with militar green shorts and over-the-knee pump boots. I think she looks kinda dressy and cute.

Another good idea. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in her Burberry Prorsum cape, skinny jeans, grey knee-high boots, and a really nice Panama hat.

Streetsyling. I guess short capes are coming in by hand with knee high boots, I totally dig these red strappy ones. And for an adventurous look: add a hat!

What's your point of view on capes? Wear it or ditch it?

  1. I love how it's worn in the 3rd and last picture.
